Rockford Peaches Day on State

Friday, June 01, 2018

River District, 100 block of E. State St. to 500 block of E. State St., Rockford, IL, Illinois

Participating shops, restaurants and bars along East State Street next to Rockford City Market and surrounding businesses within the River District will feature specialty drinks and dishes and 1940s Peaches-themed items for sale — all to celebrate Rockford Peaches Day on State and to benefit the International Women’s Baseball Center (IWBC). Stars from A League of Their Own will appear along the street throughout the evening. Post banners will proudly declare Rockford the “International Home for Women’s and Girl’s Baseball” while storefronts will be decorated to carry the Peaches theme. Peach floral planters will line East State Street, renamed “Peach Orchard Lane” for the day in honor of the “Girls of Summer”, the original players in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. Free to the public.
