Original Illinois Civil War Flags

Thursday, August 16, 2018

Books On The Square, 427 E. Washington St., Springfield, Illinois

6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

This is the eleventh in a 12-part series, “Illinois and the Civil War,” developed to commemorate Illinois’ 200 years of statehood. It is sponsored by the Civil War Roundtables of Springfield and Macoupin County.
Following a presentation about military flags at Books On The Square, attendees are invited to join an optional auto caravan and travel to Camp Lincoln. This is a rare opportunity to see Illinois’ historical treasure of military flags, most from the Civil War. Bill Lear, curator at the Illinois Military History Museum located at the Camp, will be our guide on this adventure of viewing these important artifacts and explaining how they are preserved and restored.

Cost of Admission: $Free
