June 21, 2018 is Kankakee Day, a celebration of the Kankakee County seat’s 165th anniversary! This Illinois bicentennial year event is the first of what will be an annual tradition for this community. Celebrants are encouraged to attend Kankakee area community events, learn about local history, and discover the community’s many unique opportunities for personal development.

Kankakee Day will be celebrated at the Kankakee Farmer’s Market, located at the corner of S Schuyler Ave and E Merchant St, in Kankakee, Illinois from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2018. Relevant local community events and organizations are being promoted throughout the Kankakee Day celebration campaign for the purpose of promoting positive attitudes, boosting civic pride, and spreading knowledge about the Kankakee area’s rich heritage.
