BeachFest is an annual four-day free community event that is held during the summer and attracts thousands from the area. This festival promotes positive community and business interaction with a variety of diverse entertainment and many activities available for all age groups. Entertainment includes carnival rides, food vendors, local crafters and vendors, children’s entertainment, and live bands. During the course of the festival, the Beachfest Committee will have a booth dedicated to the Illinois Bicentennial. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the state’s history and answer Bicentennial related trivia questions for the chance to win Illinois Bicentennial merchandise, such as the Illinois State Flag, the Bicentennial T-Shirt, the Bicentennial threaded hoodie, and the Bicentennial cable knit blanket. The core pillars of Beachfest align with the pillars of the Bicentennial Commission: to celebrate and inspire.
