The Fort Massac Encampment celebrates the rich heritage of IL’s 1st State Park, Fort Massac. The Bicentennial will be celebrated during the opening and closing ceremonies of the event Oct. 20th & 21st. Authentically uniformed troops from the French, British and Colonial America will be in attendance. Vendors and craftspeople will also be at the park along with children’s activities, live shows and live music. Food vendors will also be on hand. The unique charm of this event that has drawn over 100,000 visitors to Fort Massac is that every re-enactor, vendor, and/or participant must be in attire of that time period, sell goods that could have been available in the time, or food that could have been available in that time.
