The use of colored troops in the American Civil War was not a sure thing though it was a personal fight for freedom for the slaves. This program, through a first-person General Grant, will give the government and military’s view on the use of colored troops and first-person Sgt. Andrew Lewis of the 29th USCT will relate the perspective from the black troops in the field.
